Ghana Minerals Commission Visits Chifeng Gold to Chart New Blueprint for Mining Development

 

On 7 December, a delegation led by Mr. Isaac Tandoh, Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Minerals Commission, visited Chifeng Gold and held discussions with Mr. Wang Jianhua, Chairman of the Board, and Mr. Gao Bo, Vice Chairman and CEO of the Company, and senior management of Chifeng Gold. The delegation has engaged in in-depth exchanges with the Company on topics including further investing in Ghana mining industry, expanding areas of cooperation, and promoting sustainable development, reaching multiple consensuses.


During the meeting, Mr. Wang Jianhua extended a warm welcome to Mr. Isaac Tandoh and his delegation. He reviewed the long-standing friendly relations maintained between Chifeng Gold and the Ghanaian Government, its land and resources authorities, and the Minerals Commission. He noted that Chifeng Gold as the first gold mining enterprise from China entering the Ghanaian large scale gold mining industry, we consistently received strong support from the Ghana Minerals Commission and other government departments over the years. The Company has not only established persistent communication channels with Ghana's mining authorities, local governments, and communities but has also actively promoted Ghana's superior business environment and rich resource potential within China's gold mining industry, playing a significant bridging role.


Wang emphasized that Chifeng Gold is an international gold mining company in continuous growth, always adhering to a development philosophy of "openness, diversity, and cooperation." With employees and management teams hailing from multiple countries, the Company consistently strives to build long-term, friendly, and mutually beneficial partnerships with the communities where it operates. He reiterated Chifeng Gold's firm belief in "To benefit more people through the development of Chifeng Gold" and expressed the Company's commitment to working hand-in-hand with the Ghana Minerals Commission to jointly manage its operations in Ghana well, contributing more to local economic and social development.


Mr. Isaac Tandoh provided a detailed introduction to Ghana's geological resource endowment, mining laws and regulations framework, business environment, and future investment prospects. He spoke highly of the remarkable achievements and contributions made by Chifeng Gold in its operations in Ghana, particularly in areas such as infrastructure construction, responsible mining practices, technical training for employees, promotion of local employment, fostering harmonious community relations, and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance. He welcomed and looked forward to Chifeng Gold further investing in Ghana to achieve deeper cooperation.

Mr. Gao Bo stated that Mr. Tandoh's profound professional background in mining would facilitate more efficient and smooth communication between the two sides. He affirmed that Chifeng Gold is resolutely committed to implementing the concept of mutually beneficial cooperation and plans to visit Ghana in the near future to advance the expansion and production increase plans for the Wassa mine. Gao pointed out that after carefully listening to the introduction regarding Ghana's mining policies and development vision, Chifeng Gold feels even more confident in its commitment to continuous investment and long-term development in Ghana. Currently, the Company has assembled a professional technical and management team, focusing on advancing the expansion plan for the Wassa mine area. This includes further exploration and development of Wassa Deeps, the upgrade and expansion of the processing plant, the development of the Benso mine, the construction of the Father Brown project and its supporting processing plant, among others. All projects are progressing as planned, and the Company looks forward to the continued strong support of the Ghanaian government to ensure their smooth implementation.


Both sides agreed with each other in the meeting that the Ghanaian government provides firm support and a favorable investment environment for business growth, and Chifeng Gold will continue to invest and deepen its presence in Ghana's mining market. They agreed to further strengthen collaboration to jointly promote the prosperity of Ghana's mining industry and the development of the local economy and society, creating a new mutually beneficial and win-win situation.

This high-level meeting has elevated the cooperative relationship between Chifeng Gold and the Ghana Minerals Commission to a new level, also injecting strong momentum into the Company's international layout and sustainable development in West Africa.
